Have You Ever Watched a Movie been Made?

My father was a hotelier in Sri Lanka when my sister and I were kids. So we resided in the Hotel for seventeen years.
During this time, we really looked forward to the arrival of the film crews who always spent a few months at the hotel every few years!
Some of the movies which were filmed during this time were ‘Gandhi’, ‘Mountbatten’ and ‘Indiana Jones’.
As children we really looked forward to getting our autograph books signed by the actors and actresses in the movies, who were always very friendly - and of course this made us feel very important.
But what we never realized was the amount of work that went into making a movie. I still remember an instance where they transformed the Hotel dining room, by bringing in new furniture, and then watching the crew act the same scene so many times that we had memorized the lines ourselves and were really tired of watching it.
The amount of coordination that has to go smoothly, from the cameraman to the actors is amazing.
I guess it is quite easy for us to review movies and even criticize them at times, but I think it is important for us all to remember all the hard work that goes into making a movie

Yes I think the crew become like a family as they spend so much time together!
